For the Carmada project, a fiberglass lifecast of
the artists head with hair was retrofitted and a beard made of
cotton, then affixed the head to the interior of a vitrine that
sat in the bed of his pickup. A hose ran from the truck's
exhaust pipe to the base of the vitrine, where the vehicle's
smog would cycle through the apparatus to leave some trace
of the day's journey. All elements were chosen for
the irrelation to the residue of time's passage.
