Driving through Los Angeles, though occasionally a high stress/white
knuckle experience, is more commonly the cause of a steady,
narcotic removal. The constraints of limited space, and the necessity
of a distracted but constant attentiveness, plunge the driver into a
trance state of semi-automated action. The mind drifts, but only
just so far…

The physical responsibilities of operating the machine never allow
for total escapism, and the bodily toll of the experience is felt by
the driver at the end of the day. My project will present a sort of
golem figure, approximating the effects of a day behind the wheel.
